Santiago de Compostela, Spain

Currently i'm in Santiago de Compostela, which is situated north west of spain. It's famous for being the ending point of the pilgrimage way, Camino de santiago. The Camino de Santiago de Compostela, also known in English as The Way of St James, is a collection of old pilgrimage routes which cover all Europe. They all have Santiago de Compostela in north west Spain as their final destination. For more than 1000 years pilgrims have been walking along the Camino de Santiago.

Something i am interested to do when later but not now. The excitement, the thought of having the lone walk, just yourself, the sore leg, blue skies and the sun for a whole 3 months! to me, it's thrilling to others it's stupid =p.. Well It's the food for the soul innit.

I'm amazed by the way this community work here. They entertain their citizen really well i must say. All the shows they put up for the kids every evening (at least all the evening when i'm there) right in front of the fountain is amazing. They were not pushy when it comes to donation and all, but all the effort put in is commemorable!

Beside that, at night, almost everynight there is a live performance show by a band in random places, could be in a plaza or in an alley way paired up with a bar. It's exciting to go out 11pm at night stand outside of the hostel, close ur eye and follow the music! To top everything off, the weather is superb! chilly and bearable... nobody wants to be sticky at night!! Music were very soulful, entertaining, and upbeat.

The first night's show was put up in a plaza with steps. There was a small platform, stage for performing and the steps were the seating . It started with some light tempo music, where people would groove around with their body. finger clicking, wow-ing and clapping.. As the night proceed, people start walking down, shaking the booty and dancing. Don't get me wrong .. it's not clubbing like, more like cha-chaing together and bonding! the experience was absolutely amazing and close to the heart. The other great thing about it is.. It's absolutely FREE!

Today's performance was in an alley way, paired up with a chocolate bar. Seatings and cushion were provided and no pressure on whether u had an order with them or not. Another stellar performance! this time round, all spanish song were performed and we were included in the performance... the ambient and the interaction just put a big smile in our face.. The bam ba la bam ba la and the bam bam bam ... Can't be put in words.. i'm starting to love this place more and more !

Will post up the video soon =) Porto next!
