Throughout this trip, i kept telling theQings only crazy people travel in winter. Everyday we put ourselves in an harsh environment to walk and do activities. Not only do we put ourselves in that kind of condition, i've "force" my korean friends to do so too. HAha bo pian, i am there at this weird time!
Deep down in me, i love travelling around during winter, less crowded, the snows, the gloomy, monochrome world gives u a different perspective. i love it. even though i shiver i enjoyed it.
It's great to finally be back in hometown, minus the 12 hours wait in LCCT before i catch my another flight back to borneo island. Luckily for lcct there is free wifi and a place to hang around with aircond HAHA !
7 days in Seoul
2 days in Gyeongju
3 days in Jeju island
Certainly a very fruitful trip. But both of us, would really prefer to stay longer in Seoul then going to Jeju in this harsh weather, and to be frank, am not impressed by what jeju island can offer me. Maybe i am a spoiled traveller or prehaps the weather made it unenjoyable? certainly would recommend u guys to stay in seoul for as long as u can.
Shopping therapy.Great place for shopping as well ..but of course, it depends on how great ur bargaining skills are (in Dongdaemun - a 24hr shopping area), i made enemies and friends through that. All i can say dun try to scam a malaysian's money or to be even more specific.. foochow's. Vintage are cheaps here! my best bargain was a nice looking blazer for 20W which is ard rm 60. A normal topshop blazer would already cost u hundreds already.
Artistic n Caffeine.Great place for getting in inspirations, lot's of nice coffee shop with nice coffees, nice interior, nice vibe to it, definitely 2 thumbs up! some integrated the utilities and the design together... some have dogs in the cafe, some have nice little lunch box.. also giving a chance for users to interact with the cafe by leaving notes and more.. ahhh... this is what i miss the most.
Gastronomic pleasure.Food as expected... Spiciness! i ate too much spicy food that i think me face is actively erupting and still, body became so heaty that i've got 5 ulcers on the gum, on the left side of me mouth. and eventually all the 5 join into 1 gigantic one. kill me but kimchi is still to die for!
The social world.Great peoples u can meet along the way. Perhaps i am bias on this, but ever since i met my korean friends in poland. I grew fond into them and got really close with them. I appreciate the times they sacrificed to bring me around and the effort of making my stay as comfortable as possible. Trying to squeeze what they have eaten all their life, what they do, their culture into me world in 7 days. and i think i got myself a korean a-pa(dad) and o-ma(mum)... lets just hope kim dun get jealous hahaha
So much more that, its hard to be put in words, but for urselves to experience. Do visit Seoul, Korea. Maybe dun be as crazy as us... go during spring =) then again.. if its too warm... its hard for u to enjoy a hot cup of coffee... and impossible for u to sight snow.
**Fark.. i spilled my hazenut coffee
